The #webuiltthiscity initiative is first and foremost dedicated to the founding fathers of the UAE and the current rulers who continue their legacy!  We wanted to celebrate this National Day by capturing the moments, memories, places and people who have shaped our cities and wanted you to celebrate with us!

How

All you have to do is instagram your favourite spots in your city. Is it a particular baqala around the corner from your house? Is it the man in the baqala who has been fueling your Chips Oman addiction since you were 12?  Is it a high rise building or dancing fountain that fills you with pride? Get instagramming and hashtag #webuiltthiscity, mentioning @sauceloves & @capitalDstudio and share your moments with the world!

Then what?

The 41 most popular photos were exhibited at a super cool exhibition-slash-street party at Capital D Studio in Dubai! We had a pop-up baqala and Emirati cafe and partied with one of our favourite DJs in Dubai – DJ NJ (we love her).

So is it over now?

NO WAY!  Are you kidding?  We loved all your pictures so much that we decided to keep on celebrating!  So keep on hashtaggin’ #webuiltthiscity and your pics will stream automatically onto this portal (unless your setting is on private).  We are working on a super amazing awesome book with all your super amazing awesome pictures! (Did we mention that it’s going to be super amazing & awesome?)
